Clavell tower perched seemingly precariously on top of the picturesque cliffs of Kimmeridge in Dorset is a beloved landmark of the coastline, built in 1830 as an observation tower atop the Hen cliff by Reverend John Richards clavell and used for many years as a folly by the likes of Thomas Hardy who brought his first love here to woo, Before it was decimated in the 1930s by a fire and left desolate through the war years.
