No festival is more widely celebrated in the UK than Christmas, and as the merry season approaches, the nation prepares with great pomp and an ever growing sense of eagerness for the much loved holiday. However, whilst the official religion of the United Kingdom is Christianity, a 2021 census of England and Wales shows that, for the first time, under half of the population (46.2%) claimed to follow Christianity, a 13% decrease from the 59.3% in 201, a mere decade before.
