Wallington Animal Rescue (WAR) is a self-funded, family run charity covering areas of Sutton, Carshalton and Mitcham that provides care for unwanted, neglected and abused animals. During my conversation with them, they reported to me that they mainly rescue cats on the domestic front. However, when dealing with wild animals, they kindness ranges from small wounded hedgehogs to majestic deer and birds of prey. Another thing about their mission that struck me was the level of care and dedication WAR show towards their animals. For instance, they have instilled a stric no-cage policy, allowing animals to stretch their paws normally, as they would be able to do in the wild.
