On the 1st of December 2023, the England womens’ football team produced a fierce battle against the Netherlands to keep their hopes of Olympic qualification alive. 72,000 supporters made the trek to Wembley stadium to see one of the Lionesses’ most thrilling uphill battles yet: winning with a large enough goal difference to secure a qualification to the Olympics. The team showed tremendous resilience and focus, and, by the end, were thoroughly deserving of the hard-earned victory.
