Dinosaurs in Crystal Palace Park

In 1852, a huge cast iron and plate glass structure began construction in Sydenham. This was the ‘Crystal Palace’  and a relocation programme had just begun from Hyde Park, where it had been the site of the Great Exhibition in 1851, to Sydenham. Currently, after a huge fire in 1936, only the stone terrace on which it once stood upon remains. However despite the destruction of this seemingly unreal building, not all that was constructed alongside this marvel was destroyed. The most notable exemption would be that of the Crystal Palace Park Dinosaurs.
