In the UK today, burglary is a prominent issue for both residents and authorities alike - the 6th most reported crime in England in 2023 (Office of National Statistics). For the unfortunate victim the effects are simply awful; the horrible anticipation of returning home to a front door left ajar; the shock at seeing things upturned and emptied; even the sickening realisation that perhaps to them the most secure and private place, breached. Upon the terrible burglary of my neighbour, I felt as though some tips and precautions were in order, and to help combat this sick and selfish crime you readers may take note.
