Both teams appeared to start slow in this early afternoon clash between the Red Devils and the Whites. Harry Maguire picked up a knock early on after a collision with Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz, but quickly returns to the pitch to rejoin the play. Joao Palhinha gave away a cheap foul just 35 yards from his own goal, which is crossed neatly in by Eriksen. The ball finds Garnacho unmarked on the back post, who taps it across the face of the goal to Scott McTominay, who smashes the ball in the back of the net. Unfortunately for Manchester United however, Maguire, while in an offside position, made an attempt to play the ball, therefore interfering with the play and causing VAR to chalk off the goal, unfortunate for United.
