Israel and Palestine – War Crimes or Collateral Damage
There have been 9,614 civilian deaths due to the war in Ukraine since 24 Feb 2022 (source OHCR) over a period of 18 months. In contrast, there have been approximately 8,500 deaths and counting (according to the Ministry of Health in Palestine) since 7 Oct 2023, in just 24 days. Putin’s killing of civilians in Ukraine was labelled barbaric and a war crime by western leaders and western media outlets. In contrast, almost the same number of deaths, and the same level of property destruction, flattening of buildings, towns reduced to rubble etc does not attract the same or any serious level of criticism from western leaders or the established press outlets.
