Every year, my street puts up an “advent calendar” of decorations in our windows, which comes together in a spectacular display of lights, Santas and Christmas trees on Christmas Day. The idea was first put forward by a minister who lives on our street, and has done a fabulous job at bringing the street together, as everyone is assigned a day to put up their window, so each day another display is up!
